Larry Myrick and Norma Lopez
The love story of Larry Myrick and Norma Lopez began 15 years ago when Larry came into Norma's life and swept her off her feet. Both being single parents living in Camden, NJ, the two worked tirelessly to provide a better way of life for Norma's son, David, and Larry's daughter, Quione'. Their bond of friendship, passion and endless love has truly withstood the test of time. In 2014, Larry gave Norma the surprise of her life by finally asking her to be his wife. However, while planning their dream wedding, tragedy struck. In December of 2015, senseless violence took David's life at the young age of 24, putting all wedding plans aside, as Larry and Norma were forced to plan a funeral. They have relocated to the Deptford area since, and have been attempting to piece their lives together. Their love for one another has helped them to weather the difficult times. Through unimaginable pain and loss, their love has proven to be their refuge. Larry and Norma are an incredible couple who are an inspiration to all that true love can endure when faced with all of life's trials and tribulations.
Kevin Sochanchak and Ashley Wood
It is hard to put into words all that Kevin Sochanchak and Ashley Wood have faced in the 11 years they have been together. The one thing that remains, however, is their deep love for one another. The couple’s plans to wed were derailed when Ashley was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2011. As of May of 2016, Ashley hit her five-year mark of the disease and is finally cancer free. In 2014, Kevin was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach and esophageal cancer and was given only six months to live by his doctors. Fortunately, the treatments worked and sustained the tumors, but in May of 2016, Kevin's cancer spread again, resulting in the couple having to face yet another battle for one of their lives. Kevin has now had two surgeries and is continuing to beat the odds. The couple had to cancel their wedding plans and many other dreams to battle these debilitating diseases. The only thing Kevin would like to accomplish in his life is to marry Ashley. Although they are unable to travel and do a lot of things they once planned, it would be Kevin's dream — and his one wish to hopefully come true — to have the wedding of their dreams. Call it kismet or fate, but Adelphia was the wedding reception venue where the pair were planning to celebrate their wedding before their diagnosis.
Jamaine Russell and Tahiya Anderson
The best title for the love story between Jamaine Russell and Tahiya Anderson is "ready." Ready describes their entire union, their bond and their unconditional love for one another. In 2014, when Tahiya was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer in her right lung, the couple was ready for the intense fight that they knew they were facing. When Tahiya decided to enroll in nursing school, they were ready for the long days of learning and late nights studying. When Jamaine decided he wanted to work in law enforcement, they were ready for the 16 weeks of him being away to work towards his dream career. When the couple found out they were having a baby, they were ready for the newest addition to their family. After achieving everything over those years — becoming a cancer survivor, a nurse, a correctional officer, and everything else the couple endured — the couple joyously welcomed a beautiful baby girl on November 12, 2016. They were, yet again, ready. Ready for marriage. Ready and willing to continue to honor and love one another graciously and unconditionally. Who said fairy tales aren't real?
Matt Lewis and Katrina Knott
The love story of Matt Lewis and Katrina Knott began in college at Stockton University in 2004, where the two met and become your typical college sweethearts. The two came from different backgrounds, started as friends and eventually became much more. Their foundation grew deeper when their daughter Arianna was born. After eight years, the two were destined to be engaged, but baby Arianna was diagnosed with leukemia at only 14 months old. Matty proposed to Katrina, and the two were ready to get married, but rather than plan their wedding, the couple had to plan their hospitalization for Arianna's life-saving bone marrow transplant. The couple have fought alongside their daughter through multiple life-threatening complications to help Arianna reach remission. Eager to make their family official, Matty and Katrina aspire to share their dream wedding with Arianna as an entire family celebration.
